Others reviewed in the New Statesman

A nice brief review of Others in the New Statesman: ‘Charles Fernyhough, a psychologist and author, has gathered an impressive cluster of names – Noam Chomsky, Kamila Shamsie and Marina Warner among them – to investigate ‘the power of words to help us see beyond ourselves’. While A L Kennedy looks at difference through a short story about an old woman, Alex Preston recalls playing cricket against immigrant boys and Edward Platt tracks a Ukip candidate on election night in a Fenland constituency. Otherness is everywhere, they say, and not just in the obvious differences of sex, race and class.’
